Kids Safe Archie and Titans Comic

The creator gives a great interview.

Art & Franco Bring ARCHIE & TINY TITANS Together!

It turns out Sidekick City, where the Tiny Titans hang out, is right next door to Riverdale. In October, a mishap at the dry cleaners leads to a crossover of epic proportions when “little” versions of characters from Archie Comics meet the Tiny Titans.

Created by Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani, the Tiny Titans characters are smaller versions of the Teen Titans from the DC Universe. The comic, which was launched in 2008, has won an Eisner and has hit the New York Times best-seller list.

Now, in a three-issue crossover, the Tiny Titans characters meet Little Archie characters, bringing Archie, Veronica, Betty and the gang into the world of Sidekick City.

PSP Comics Get DVD Feature: Audio Commentary

Posted by: pspteacher on: December 16, 2009

According to a tweet by comic publisher IDW, we won’t just read comics on the PSP, we’ll hear them as well. At least we’ll hear people talking about them. “Editing more audio tracks from @Templesmith (Ben Templesmith) for Wormwood on the PSP,” one tweet noted. A subsequent message clarified the nature of the audio: “
Recording more @Templesmith commentaries tonight.”

The official PlayStation Digital Comics Twitter account (yes, we’re sourcing another tweet) pointed out the note, saying “I’m so pleased IDW are taking advantage of the optional audio sound track(s) available to publishers.” We agree — it’s nice to know that

the PSP Digital Comics service will add something to the medium beyond a different interface.

The PSP Digital Comics store will launch in several countries today. According to a PSNComics tweet, the US will receive access at noon Pacific time (3PM EST). The European PlayStation Blog states the comics store will open at 5PM GMT in the UK, Ireland (technical issue), Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The system will supposedly launch with hundreds of comics from Marvel, IDW, Titan, iVerse and 2000AD. Everything that’s available should be listed on playstationcomics.com after launch. We’re definitely looking forward to taking the service for a test drive with that “free comics” button.

SGT ROCK in Christmas Special

Posted by: pspteacher on: December 11, 2009

clipped from www.newsarama.com

“Return of Sgt. Rock” – as everyone’s favorite soldier appears in this week’s DC Holiday Special 2009!

Just like “The Lost Battalion” this story is inspired by actual events that occurred to a real veteran, 501st PIR (101st Airborne) 1st Sgt. Donald L. Deam on Christmas Eve, 1944.   It also serves as homage not only to 1st Sgt. Deam (who sadly passed away in October of 2008) but also to Chuck Dixon and Russ Heath.  “A Peace On Earth” isn’t the first Sgt. Rock Christmas story set in Bastogne during the apex of the Bulge, that distinction goes to Mr.’s Dixon and Heath masterly crafted a wonderful Sgt. Rock story, “A Christmas Carol” that was published in the DCU Holiday Bash II (1998).

Posted by: pspteacher on: November 29, 2009

So glad thisservice has started. The autoflow feature is one step above the iphone and ipod Touch version of the same comics. The widescreen display also seems to add a little bit more.

If you’re on the fence about Sony’s upcoming PSP Digital Comics service, the PlayStation UK blog has a few more sampler comics to decide whether the feature piques your interest. Available for lucky users in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are two sampler comics, featuring the service’s highly touted Autoflow feature — which mimics the way your eyes read a page. Following the release of the PSP’s 6.20 firmware, PlayStation released comic samples of Transformers: All Hail Megatron and Aleister Arcane.

Free sample first-issues of Star Trek: Enterprise Experiment and Astro Boy: The Movie Adaptation are available until December 16. In order to grab your sample, make sure to first download the Comic App via the “Extras” section of the XMB (or through this link) for your PSP and use the redemption codes available on PlayStation’s UK blog. Then prepare to use your amazing 3D hardware to … read!

SECRET ORIGIN #3: Welcome to Metropolis, Clark

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

By Alex Segura

So long, Smallville; hello, Metropolis. Join Geoff Johns and Gary Frank as they explore a very different Metropolis from the one we currently know – one that has yet to experience life with Superman as its protector. Witness the transformative power one person can have on a city as young Clark Kent joins The Daily Planet, and Superman takes to the skies and gives everyone a reason to look up. Nice way to kick off the week, eh

But that’s not all, gang. TIME’s new pop culture and entertainment blog, TECHLAND, has a few more pages from this issue, featuring Clark’s first encounter with a certain Ms. Lane. So, swing on over and check them out, won’t you?
